Camp Clarita Opens Doors For Kids
Parents rejoice! The City of Santa Clarita's Camp Clarita is opening doors once again to children ages 3 to 14. As summer approaches, it is time for parents to start thinking of ways to keep the kids busy while they aren't in school.
Camp Clarita is a day camp, offering classes and outings for youth in pre-school to ninth grade. Kids in the program can make friends and develop their skills while they enjoy their summer vacation.
Camp Clarita provides recreational and creative opportunities for all local youth. Children are divided by age into seperate camps and programs are tailored to their age's needs. Activities will vary by age group, and include games, crafts, performing arts, swimming, field trips, and more! There are sessions at several parks throughout Santa Clarita, so parents can chose one that is convenient for their family.
Each camp group is overseen by at least one full time director and an assistant director, in addition to several counselors. All Camp Clarita staff is fully-trained and certified in both first aid and CPR, so parents never have to worry about the safety of their children.
"The City truly values the youth in our community," said Lesley Mendez, Recreation Coordinator for the City. "Camp Clarita provides our kids with a safe place to learn and grown and to socialize when they are not in school."
Registration is fast and easy and can be done online, over the phone, in person , or by mail. Registration fees range from $75 to $215 weekly, depending on availability, so families will have no problems sceduling in summer trips and vacations!
