Brush Fire In Castaic
Winds blew a brush fire through a small valley between the northbound and southbound Interstate 5 lanes near Lake Hughes Road in Castaic on Thursday...
All northbound lanes were closed for more than a half hour at about 11:55 a.m. at the Lake Hughes Road exit and remained partially closed for several hours.
Officials received the first call on the fire at about 11:30 a.m.
The cause of the 50-acre blaze is still under investigation, but initial reports indicated it was sparked by gasoline leaking from a car on the freeway, a Los Angeles County Fire Department spokesperson said.
