Board Candidate Calls for More Vocational Study
One of the top issues of the Hart district campaign is whether students are offered enough vocational and technical programs. Joe Messina, a candidate for the William S. Hart School District board, has pushed for this, saying there are no wood, automobile and metal shops, which he views as "basic fundamentals at every high school." Furthermore, there are no substantial performing arts programs, he said.
