Applications available for COC Preschool

    SANTA CLARITA - College of the Canyons is accepting applications now
for its popular Preschool and Toddler Program at its Center for Early
Childhood Education.  The Fall semester begins August 16, 2005.
    "This is an excellent opportunity to involve young children in a
program that encourages social, emotional, intellectual and physical
growth," said site director Cam Valenzuela.  The Center for Early Childhood
Education offers a fully-certified and credentialed teaching staff.
    Both half- and full-day schedules are available Monday through
Friday in the fall.  Half-day sessions are scheduled from 8:45 to 11:45 a.m.
and from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.; full-day sessions run from 8:15 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The program is open to all members of the college and the community.
    Parents who meet minimum income standards may qualify to receive
free or reduced-rate enrollment in the program.  For example, a two-person
household that earns $30,228 or less per year would qualify for free
preschool.
