Antonovich Calls For Off-Peak Delivery Policy For County Facilities
Los Angeles – To reduce congestion, air pollution and cancer-causing emissions, Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich has introduced a motion to develop an off-peak delivery incentive policy for all County facilities. During peak driving time on any given day, trucks and other vehicles travel hundreds of miles throughout Los Angeles County to deliver goods and services. These deliveries contribute to our congested highways, and idling trucks on freeways waste precious gallons of fuel while producing smog-forming, cancerous emissions. The South Coast Air Quality Management District approved an earlier motion by Supervisor Antonovich awarding additional contract points to bidders who pledged off-peak deliveries.
