Community Service Grants Funded By Council
$100,000 given to nonprofits, school districts for programs.
The Santa Clarita City Council approved $100,000 worth of community service grants at its Feb. 12 meeting.
The grants make possible several enrichment programs for arts and special needs students, will provide fire recovery funding for Heads Up Therapy on Horses and provide a needed truck for the Santa Clarita Valley Food Pantry.
In addition, funding was provided to a violence prevention program at the Gentle Barn and outreach efforts by the Domestic Violence Center of the SCV.
The grants help nonprofit agencies that provide community benefits and cultural arts do things they may not be able to afford without the city’s support.
