Former Assemblyman Keith Richman Dies

Former Assemblyman and long-time healthcare advocate Keith Richman died Friday night at UCLA Medical Center with his wife, Suzan and family at his side, after an extended battle with brain cancer. A resident of the San Fernando Valley, he was an active physician and philanthropist.
Richman, 56, served the Santa Clarita, San Fernando and Simi Valleys in the California Assembly from 2000 to 2006. Prior to the Assembly, he was a health industry executive with Lakeside HealthCare, Inc. When elected, he was the only practicing physician that year to leave his practice for a seat in Sacramento, becoming a champion of better healthcare and bringing an informed perspective to the Capitol.
Circle Of Hope Hires New Executive Director

Circle of Hope, Inc. has hired an experienced Executive Director, Ray J. Tippet, to become the first hired Executive Director. Colleen Shaffer, the founder, is expanding into Programs Director.

Firefighters are getting a hand on the Crown Fire that broke out Thursday afternoon. According to Inspector Sam Padilla of the Los Angeles County Fire Department, the fire is 62 percent contained and burned 13,980 acres.
New Fare Structure For Santa Clarita Transit
Starting tomorrow, August 1, the Transit fares for both local and commuter routes will be restructured. Local transfers will be replaced by a “ Local Day Pass ” which allows riders to travel on Santa Clarita Transit as many times as they would like during an operational day.
