City Hosts Free Graffiti Prevention Workshop

Graffiti vandalism costs the City of Santa Clarita more than $600,000 a year.  On Tuesday, July 9 at 6:00 p.m. the City will host a free educational workshop to educate parents, residents, and private property and business owners about ways to help prevent graffiti vandalism.

The graffiti vandalism workshop will be hosted at the Canyon Country Community Center, located at 18792 Flying Tiger Drive.

No RSVP is necessary to attend the free workshop where representatives from the City’s Graffiti Task Force will share information:

-to help residents identify whether their child is a tagger, and understand parental responsibility and consequences of graffiti in Santa Clarita,

-and tips for private property owners and business owners who have been victims of graffiti and ways to prevent graffiti in their neighborhood.

“The City of Santa Clarita has a zero tolerance policy when it comes to graffiti in our community,” said Mayor Bob Kellar.  “This workshop is a great way for homeowners, parents and business owners to empower themselves and take a stand against graffiti.”

The City of Santa Clarita encourages community members to keep an eye out and report graffiti whenever possible using the City’s online request system, eService, or by calling the City’s graffiti hotline at (661) 25-CLEAN or (661) 252-5326.  For more information about the upcoming workshop, please contact Justin Cummings, graffiti removal coordinator, at (661) 294-2563.
