City To Dedicate New Chunk Of Open Space
Golden Valley Ranch is Largest Open Space Acquisition in City’s History.
The public is invited to an open space dedication on Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at 11 a.m., celebrating the largest open space acquisition in the City’s history.
The dedication event will take place at the Golden Valley Ranch trail head, located at Big Cedar Drive and Hidden Willow Drive, just off Via Princessa and Marsha McLean Parkway. To get there, follow Via Princessa south to Marsha McLean Parkway, turn left and follow the road until the asphalt stops. Turn left and park. There will be directional signs to help guide visitors.
The Golden Valley Ranch open space dedication represents a partnership among the City of Santa Clarita, Pardee Homes and PacSun LLC. The contribution of over 900 acres of open space to the City will put this property in public ownership to be preserved in perpetuity.
“The City is very pleased with this partnership that brings in 900-plus of acreage that is now in public ownership. We are very appreciative of the partnership among the City and these developers,” commented Mayor Bob Kellar.
The 900-plus acres are located south of Via Princessa near the Golden Valley Ranch development.
The open space dedication event on March 12 is free and open to the public but reservations are encouraged, call 661-255-4939.
