The City recently eliminated its Storm Drain Transfer
Deposit Fee in an effort to lighten the economic burden placed on businesses
working on projects in Santa Clarita.

The Santa Clarita City Council voted to remove the deposit
fee, which will return more than $150,000 to businesses working in the City.

“The City recognizes the economic hardship many businesses
and individuals are facing right now,” said Mayor Frank Ferry. “The Council and
Development Process Advisory Committee decided, though the fee was necessary,
it would be best to remove it and allow City-based projects to continue.”

The City’s Development Process Advisory Committee met with
business owners who expressed concern that their projects would not be able to
continue because they could not afford the City’s Storm drain Transfer Deposit
Fee.
