The high school football season may have come to an end
weeks ago, but the memories for Santa Clarita
Christian School
will remain for a long while. The school's 8-man football team fought its way
to a CIF Championship, fueled by a talented roster of players and an inspired
coach.

So it is no surprise that when the All-CIF team
announcements were made, Santa Clarita Christian nabbed seven player spots, as
well as the head coach honors.

"This season was just and unbelievable experience," said
head coach Garrick Moss. "This is one of the hardest working teams I've been a
part of, and I've been coaching for 11 years."

Here's who made the All-CIF team from Santa Clarita
Christian:

Coach of the Year

Garrick Moss

Player of the Year

Collin Keoshian

All-CIF team

Steven Borden

Brian Schraner

Russell Gage

Austin Lillenberg

Daniel Chaplin

Joe Grayem

Image8-man football is different than standard 11-man football,
although not by much.

"We have two less linemen and one less back...everything else
is the same," explained Garrick. "As far as football, people don't realize that
if you come to our games and sit on the sidelines, we hit really hard. People
are impressed when they come watch because we've got some great talent, they
just happen to be from a school that's small."

After several impressive seasons, Garrick is looking forward
to defending their CIF crown in the fall.

"We're excited," he said. "We have a lot of talent
returning, and we've got some great guys that can fill in, depending on how
hard they work in the off season and how quickly they learn. But we feel that
we're right up there and that we've got a chance to make a run again."
