Chivas USA
is coming to Santa Clarita to play in the annual Michael Hoefflin Foundation
for Children’s Cancer 2009 Chivas Benefit Soccer Game.

Fans will get a chance to see Chivas USA and the
Ventura Fusion battle it out and raise money for the foundation.

The game starts at 5 pm on Sunday March 1, at the College of
the Canyons Cougar Stadium.

The game will also be broadcast live on AM 1220 with KHTS sport
personalities Jason Galvin and Tim Haddock.

Sundays game will be the second time Chivas USA has played
in the charity event and brought world class soccer to Santa Clarita.

Scott Shauer, general manager of the Santa Clarita Soccer
Center, was one of the people that helped the Michael Hoefflin Foundation bring
the Chivas USA team to Santa Clarita.

“Your gonna be seeing some of the best players to play in
the U.S,” said Shauer.  “People  can look forward to an exciting game but most
importantly look forward to helping families that have children with cancer.”

In the Santa Clarita there are more children playing
organized soccer then baseball and football combined according to Shauer.

Of the 110 teams that play soccer at the SoccerCenter,
80 of them are adult teams.
