Framing Guide for Artists

Date: August 19, 2013 - 6:30 pm
Time: 6:30 pm  to

Randy Burzynski will give pointers on framing for art shows at the August 19 meeting of the Santa Clarita Artists’ Association (SCAA). This event is free and open to the public. SCAA meets at 6:30 pm at Barnes & Noble, 23630 Valencia Boulevard, Valencia.

Randy Burzynski & Rose-Marie Longan, owners of FastFrame in Valencia, will speak to artists and collectors on the importance of framing artwork, especially for presentation and marketing. With the annual Art Classic Gala coming up in October (biggest art exhibit and fundraiser the SCAA facilitates), rules and guidelines will be discussed in detail to get
members prepared. Questions/answers will follow as well as going over the application and prospectus.

“Our members submit their finest pieces for this professionally judged show. So having the best visual appearance (framing, etc.) may be a key to winning an award. Also, knowing the rules and guidelines in advance, make it less stressful for the artists,” says past-president Laurie Morgan.

Come early, standing room only by 6:30.
