Larry G. Mankin
Larry G. Mankin has served as the President and CEO of the Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce since January 2003.
Larry hosts the weekly Santa Clarita Valley Chamber update every Wednesday evening at 5:10pm on Santa Clarita’s Hometown Station, AM-1220, KHTS radio. He also serves on the KHTS Advisory Board.
Larry came to the Santa Clarita Valley from the Salt Lake City Chamber of Commerce in Utah, where he served as president from 1999 through February 2003.
After his arrival in Santa Clarita, the Chamber’s membership grew by 100 members to an
approximate membership base of 1,600. He created strong new programming in the areas of information and education services, networking, and government advocacy.
Since 1975, Larry has served in leadership positions for several chambers around the country including Salt Lake City, Utah, Kalamazoo, Michigan, Council Bluffs, Iowa, Steven’s Point, Wisconsin, and Brainerd, Minnesota.
Larry graduated from Northern State University in Aberdeen, South Dakota, with a bachelor degree in education. He served on the Salt Lake Olympic Organizing Committee, as well as the Sundance Advisory Board, and the currently serves on the Board of the Southern California Chamber of Commerce Executives. Over his career he has served as President of four state Chamber associations.
Larry has been married to Sue for 35 years. They have four daughters, Julie, Jessica, Katherine and Kristina. He has one grandson Seth and one granddaughter Marisa.
