Gail Ortiz is the Communications Manager for the City of Santa Clarita, California. Gail has worked in the public relations, marketing and media field for over 25 years.
Gail is responsible for the City’s internal and external communications program which includes: public access television programming, graphic design, media relations, speech-writing, special events, marketing of city programs, as well as community relations and community education activities.
Favorite projects she has implemented include a children’s educational booklet on City government and corresponding website called E-Kids, which teaches children in lower grades about their City government, as well as the City’s 20th anniversary history book, “Celebrating 20 Years of Success,” which she co-authored.
Gail began her duties with the City in 1990, serving as its first public information officer. Over her tenure, the City has won numerous regional, state and national awards for marketing and community relations activities.
