The driver in a January 2008 fatal bus crash came back to
court Thursday for a status hearing on his community service.

David Delape, a
driver for contractor Veolia Transportation, pleaded no contest to one
misdemeanor count of vehicular manslaughter in March 2008 and was given summary
probation and sentenced to 3,300 hours of community service.

The accident took
the life of Stevenson Ranch resident Janine Doughlin, who died when the Santa
Clarita Transit bus hit the driver’s side of her Toyota Camry. Delape remains on
probation.
