Bridge To Home
On November 12, 2012, KHTS was pleased to welcome SCV Homeless Shelter to the KHTS Studio. Tammy McGivern, & Tim Davis were featured on the KHTS Non-Profit Spotlight - hosted by Janice Murray.
The KHTS Non-Profit Spotlight airs Mondays at 10am on AM-1220 KHTS.
Bridge to Home signifies a crossing point in many peoples’ lives. It is where hope meets home. It is where lives change. It is where the hungry, homeless and hurting of Santa Clarita Valley and San Fernando Valley experience the compassion that abounds in this community.
Bridge to Home aims to serve the needs of homeless individuals in the Santa Clarita Valley and San Fernando Valley. Bridge To Home seeks to achieve solutions by raising community awareness, providing services, and coordinating volunteer, city, county, state and federal services.
Their vision is to create a continuum of care, focusing first on emergency services and then adding support services. Key goals include the relocation of the temporary Shelter to a permanent location and further expansion of services that will provide comprehensive care, including: medical help, mental health assistance, job resources and placement, case management and access to affordable housing.
As one of the fastest-growing communities in the United States, the Santa Clarita Valley will continually be challenged to fund the social services required by a rapidly developing society. With public funds increasingly scarce for social programs, Bridge To Home has taken a primary role in meeting the needs of the hungry and homeless in this community. Thanks to strong growth in our fundraising efforts, we have seen a substantial increase in our revenues. Combined with a broader array of support from the private sector and increased grant money, this will enable Bridge To Home to achieve its objectives.
KHTS would like to thank Tammy McGivern & Tim Davis for coming by the KHTS studio.
