Big Change In The Weather Upon Us

Warm weather to disappear and be replaced by rain, thunderstorms, maybe snow.

Sponsored By:

Unseasonably warm weather is going away today, to be
replaced by rain returning to the Santa Clarita Valley and staying
through the weekend. Rainfall on south-facing mountain slopes and foothills
could create flash flooding and debris flows in and around the recent burn
areas.

According to the National Weather Service, one to two inches of rain is expected and snow levels should
begin at 7,000 feet Thursday morning, lowering to 5,500 feet Tonight.
Snow is not initially expected across the I-5 corridor, but wintry driving
conditions should be expected in the higher elevations.

Rain is expected to increase Friday morning, tapering off
into showers on Saturday before a secondary wave of precipitation is expected to
hit, bringing with it heavier rain and thundershowers.

During this time, snow conditions are possible in the I-5
corridor near Grapevine.

The second wave brings with it the potential of up to three
inches of rainfall.

Additionally, due to the cold and unstable nature of these
weather systems, there is the potential for waterspout activity.
