Battle For Champions Crown Heats Up
Day two sinks some, propels others.
What a difference a day makes. At the close of business yesterday, Nick Price and last year’s champion Tom Purtzer held the respective one and two slots of the AT&T Champions Classic being held at the Valencia Country Club.
Today, Price slumped following a 5 over par to 17th place, while Purtzer faltered late and ended with a 1 over par, which dropped him into an overall tie for 7th place.
Jay Haas, Bernhard Langer, R.W. Eaks, Tom Jenkins and Loren Roberts all had a good day on the course to lift them into a second place tie.
But perhaps Brad Bryant had the best day, shooting 5 under par. That blasted him up to 1st place in the standings with an impressive 7 under total.
The AT&T Champions Classic will continue its dramatic run in Santa Clarita tomorrow, with tickets for the day still available.
