Dennis Prager, one of America’s most respected radio talk show hosts, comes to the Santa Clarita Valley May 12 to present “Happiness is a Serious Problem.” His program, the second installment of Congregation Beth Shalom’s Distinguished Speaker Series, begins at 8 p.m. at Congregation Beth Shalom of the Santa Clarita Valley.

81 Series To Open At The REP

Cornea Implant A First For SCV

Artificial Cornea Implant In SCV Deemed A Success.

In what is a first in the Santa Clarita Valley, a patient who was clinically blind in his right eye today successfully underwent an artificial cornea implant at Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital and is expected to regain his sight.

Dr. Craig Helm, a specialist in cornea and refractive surgery, performed the delicate operation at Henry Mayo’s Outpatient Surgery Center. The procedure lasted for approximately one hour, and was deemed a success for John Montante, 70, of Moorpark.

Two Events Celebrate Classic Book

Science Fiction comes to life around the Big Read.

Get ready for two big events coming to Santa Clarita.


On April 15th from 6:00-7:00, Fahrenheit 451 author Ray Bradbury will be at the Santa Clarita Sports Complex to speak about his writings. All are welcome to attend.


Also, on Saturday, April 21st from 12:00pm to 7:00, a full schedule of events related to Fahrenheit 451 will take over the Santa Clarita Community Center.  


From 12-1pm, the Canyon Theatre Guild will perform scenes from Fahrenheit 451.
