With the weather turning hot in the Santa Clarita Valley, Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital offers the following tips to residents on how to stay cool during the upcoming hot days.

“As the weather heats up, there are a few simple steps you can take to protect yourself and your loved ones,” said Dr. Bud Lawrence, an Emergency Room physician at Henry Mayo. “Following these steps will help ensure a person’s safety, and lessen the likelihood of someone suffering from heat exhaustion.”

According to the latest Trends report by PKF Consulting, Santa Clarita posted the second highest occupancy rate in the Los Angeles area for April 2007 at 83.22 percent.  Santa Clarita’s numbers were just slightly below Hollywood, which posted an average occupancy of 83.52 for the month, but ahead of top destinations such as West Hollywood at 81.16, Santa Monica at 80.62 percent, and Los Angeles International Airport at 78.15 percent.
