Tax Board Urging Residents To File For Assistance

Eligible homeowners can get nearly $500 and renters can get nearly $350

The Franchise Tax Board (FTB) is urging more than 600,000 eligible Californians to take advantage of assistance payments from the Homeowner and Renter Assistance Program.

House Passes Bill To Clean Up Local Sites

Last week, the House of Representatives passed a bill that will grant $1 million towards the Santa Clara River and the former Whitaker Bermite site. 



For over five years, Senator Howard “Buck” McKeon has been working with the federal government to ensure the restoration of both the Santa Clara River and the Whitaker Bermite site.

Many KHTS listeners have emailed or called in asking specifically how red light cameras work. With several camera laden intersections already in full operation throughout Santa Clarita and more on the way, now is a good time to get to the basics of how the system works, and who gets the tickets.


Colleen Murphy works with the Sheriff’s department and the City of Santa Clarita to personally oversee the red light cameras from a room where the footage is constantly streamed in.

3 Suspects Wanted For Bank Robbery

ImageAt least three Suspects are currently wanted by the FBI for armed bank robberies that occurred over the last two years.

The first bank robbery was on 7/22/05 at 9:40 am at the Bank of America in Lancaster.

The second was on 7/10/07 at 9:39 am at the Bank of the West in Glendale.

Last Tuesday, the Los Angeles Unified School Board voted in favor of a series of new reform measures.  These measures seem to be nothing more than empty rhetoric that will do nothing to get to the heart of the real problem, LAUSD itself.  One should not forget that it was just the previous week when more examples of incompetence were brought to light.
