LA County Wants Imported Puppies Screened

Non-US puppies have higher risk of health problems

To address the increased importation of puppies raised in commercial breeding operations outside of the United States, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich’s motion to send a 5-signature letter to the United States Department of Agriculture, urging stronger enforcement of puppies imported into the United States.

Summer Closure On State Route 138

Road Closure for blasting at Mormon Rock

Caltrans has begun the summer closure of State Route 138 (SR-138) for the safety improvement project from June 11 through September 11, 2007.  SR-138 will remain closed during this period, 24 hours per day, seven (7) days a week, with no escorts.  The closure will take place from Hess Rd. west toward SR-2 (west of I-15).  Two separate summer closures of sections of SR-138 were planned for 2006/2007 to expedite the work.

Golden Valley Gets New Baseball Coach

Former Hart grad takes the reigns.

The Signal is reporting that Golden Valley has a new baseball coach.  He is 2001 Hart graduate Tom Hamilton, who played college ball at Mission College and Cal Lutheran.  He replaces Michael Bunch who resigned after just one season.
