ImageAfter the California State Assembly passed the State budget on Friday, Senators have hotly contested it, with not one Republican Senator voting in favor of the budget’s passage.

 

Today, Santa Clarita’s elected State Senator George Runner spoke with KHTS about why the budget is meeting so much resistance.

Off-duty LAPD officer nabs suspect

Deputies arrested Roberto Polanco, MH/26, on suspicion of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Hit and Run Sunday.

 

An off-duty LAPD officer reportedly witnessed a traffic collision near Valencia Boulevard and Magic Mountain Parkway, where the vehicle the suspect was driving struck another car. The officer reports that the suspected drunk driver then drove away, leaving the scene of the accident.

Deputies Nab Juveniles Suspected in Rock Throwing Assaults

ImagePatrol deputies and members of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff Station's Community Interaction Team (CIT) arrested three Canyon Country youths on assault charges Thursday night. The youths are suspected in several incidents of rock throwing assaults on residents in the 25300 block of Camp Plenty Road, dating back to May 2007.
