    City’s Jobless Rate Rises, County’s Drops

    Santa Clarita’s unemployment among the lowest of similar-sized Southern California cities.

    Santa Clarita’s jobless rate rose slightly between June and July, while the county’s unemployment rate dropped over the same period due to seasonal hiring trends, the Employment Department reported Friday.
    Over the month, Santa Clarita posted the lowest rate among the similar-sized Southern California cities that The Signal compares on a monthly basis.

    Discovery Blasts Off for Cape

    Dodgers Lose to Marlins 3-0

    Sales tax figures for the first quarter of 2005 (January through March, 2005) have been calculated and the City of Santa Clarita is reporting an overall increase of 2.6% over the same period one year earlier.
