    San Francisquito Canyon Road To Reopen July 5th

    Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich announced that

    San Francisquito Canyon Road
    , between the Antelope and Santa Clarita Valleys, will be re-opened on July 5.  Closed earlier this year due to severe storm damage, the roadway will be open to allow through traffic in both directions for the first time since January

    Dodgers Fell to the Diamondbacks, 10-3

    The Los Angeles Dodgers fell to the Arizona Diamondbacks, 10-3 Sunday evening. It was the third and final game of the series, heard on your hometown station, AM-1220 KHTS! Turn in to KHTS Monday at 4:30 p.m. as the Dodgers start the three game series against the Colorado Rockies. 

    Lane Closures Continue For I-5, 126 Interchange

    The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will close the following lanes of the Golden State Freeway (I-5) and State Route 126 as part of a $24-million project to improve the I-5/126 Interchange, from Tuesday, July 5 through Friday, July 8: INTERSTATE 5:

    ·     Daily from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.:
    -     One lane of southbound I-5 from Hasley Canyon Road to Rye Canyon Road
    -     One lane of northbound I-5 from Rye Canyon Road to Hasley Canyon Road

    ·     From 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 5 to 1 a.m. Wednesday, July 6:

    McKeon: Slash Funding to Countries that Refuse to Extradite Cop Killers

        (Washington, DC) -- U.S. Rep. Howard P. "Buck" McKeon (R-Santa Clarita) earlier this week voted for a pair of amendments to the Foreign Operations, Export Financing and Related Programs Appropriations Act for Fiscal Year 2006 http://www.gop.gov/Committeecentral/bills/hr3057.asp> , which could have ramifications on the ongoing efforts to extradite cop killer Armando Garcia from Mexico.

    Runners Charter School Accountability Measure Passes Committee

    Senator George Runner's (R- Antelope Valley) charter school accountability measure, Senate Bill 430, unanimously passed the Assembly Education Committee late yesterday afternoon. 



    "Charter schools were created to be free from many bureaucratic hurdles in order to provide a creative atmosphere where students can achieve academic excellence.  Accountability must go hand in hand with that freedom in order to ensure appropriate use of our tax dollars," said Senator Runner.
