    Unitarian Universalists Preparing Hygiene Kits for Katrina Victims

    Our local Santa Clarita Unitarian Universalist Church is seeking donations of items from individuals and businesses to package as hygeine kits.
    The Holiday Inn Express has donated 1500 bars of soap, some shampoo and shower caps. Dr. Robert Meeker, DDS has donated 96 adult and 74 children's toothbrushes.


    They are still looking for the following items:

    Deodorant, Wet Wipes Kleenex, Combs, Toothpaste, Razors, Lotion, Tampons & Pads , Waterless Soap, Power Bars, etc, as well as clear baggies for packaging the kits.

    Unitarian Universalists Coordinate This Year’s Charity CROP Walk in SCV

    SANTA CLARITA, CA – 04 Sept 2005 – This year’s CROP Walk to help alleviate world hunger was sponsored by The Santa Clarita Interfaith Council and coordinated by Rev. Ricky Hoyt, minister of the Santa Clarita Unitarian Universalist congregation.

    The walk, held in the morning on Labor Day, Monday, September 5, was moved from being held on Veteran’s Day in previous years, which can fall on a work day, so that more people could participate on the Monday holiday.

    First Annual Law Appreciation Day Announced

    The Santa Clarita Valley Bar Association, announced a special Law Appreciation Day program put on by the Bar Association and co-sponsored by Santa Clarita Chamber of Commerce, the City of Santa Clarita, the Los Angeles County District Attorney and Sheriff offices, and the California Highway Patrol.
