Trace Adkins Coming To Valencia Jan. 16

Country star to sign new book at Barnes and Noble.


Country music superstar Trace Adkins, famous for songs like “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk” and “Ladies Love Country Boys” will be in Valencia next Wednesday.

Adkins will be at Barnes and Noble Booksellers on Valencia Boulevard between Creekside Road and Magic Mountain Parkway at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 16 signing copies of his book “A Personal Stand: Observations and Opinions from a Freethinking Roughneck.”

Become A Docent-Naturalist In 9 Weeks

Placerita Canyon Nature Center needs volunteer Docent-Naturalists to lead hikes.


Kick off this year with some up close and personal time with nature. Docent Naturalist training begins this Tuesday, January 8th, and everyone is encouraged to participate.  The training requires volunteers to attend meetings every Tuesday and Thursdays between 9 a.m. and noon for nine weeks.  But don’t worry if you can’t make a class, because you can watch a DVD and catch up on the lesson.    


Illegal Aliens Receive $37 Million From County In November

Welfare and food stamp benefits soar $3 million higher than September payout.


New statistics from the Department of Public Social Services reveal that illegal aliens and their families in Los Angeles County collected over $37 million in welfare and food stamp allocations in November 2007 – up $3 million dollars from September, announced Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich.

Alleged Drunk Driver Slams Into Fire Engine, Killing Passenger

Two people killed, CHP officer injured, in rain-related accidents Friday night.


A woman allegedly driving under the influence rear-ended a Los Angeles City Fire engine on the northbound Antelope Valley Freeway Friday night, sustaining minor injuries and killing her passenger, a 25-year old  woman from San Fernando.

Kings Players Coming To SCV

Rink Tour will stop at Ice Station Sunday.

The Los Angeles Kings will visit seven Southern California area ice rinks for the third-annual 2008 LA Kings Rink tour on Sunday, January 6, beginning at 3 p.m. 


Groups of Kings players, coaches and broadcasters will travel to each rink in the program to conduct on-ice clinics with youth hockey players and take part in a 30-minute autograph session with fans, as the club continues its outreach and looks to grow the sport of hockey.
