    West Side Site for New Sheriffs Station

    Los Angeles County officials confirm plans to build a facility that will serve the growing population of the Santa Clarita Valley.

    Extensive new development planned for the west side of the Santa Clarita Valley has prompted the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department to plan a new station to serve the growing area.

    Some sort of incentive he deemed important enough to make the then-22-year-old Hart High grad continue swimming & pursue a professional career after he used up his UC-Berkeley eligibility in 2003.

    Man Drowns in Castaic Lake

    Officials say they're unsure of the cause.  A search for the unrecovered body continues today...

    A 19-year-old man apparently drowned in front of several friends & family members Sunday afternoon in Castaic Lake.  The area in which the man drowned is approximately 170-feet deep.

    L.A. County Board of Supervisors

    The Board of Supervisors meet Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in Room 381B of the County Hall of Administration in downtown Los Angeles. 

    The exact address is 500 West Temple Street.  Several items are on the agenda this week, which involve the Santa Clarita Valley.

    Lane Closures Continue For I-5/14 Carpool Lane

    Sylmar/North San Fernando Valley – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will close the following lanes, ramps and connectors of the Golden State Freeway (I-5) as part of a $41.6-million project to construct High Occupancy Vehicle, (HOV), or carpool lanes, on northbound and southbound I-5 from State Route 118 to State Route 14:

    Dodgers defeated by the Cardinals 7-5

    In the final game of a three game series, the Los Angeles Dodgers were defeated by the St. Louis Cardinals 7-5.  Tune in to Your Hometown Station AM 1220 KHTS on Tuesday at 3:30 as the Dodgers face the Washington Nationals. 

    Final Stages For Repairs of I-5/126 Interchange

    Santa Clarita – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will close the following lanes of  the Golden State Freeway (I-5) and State Route 126 – intermittently -- as part of the final stages of a $24-million project to improve the I-5/126 Interchange: INTERSTATE 5:

    ·     From 7 p.m. Sunday, July 31 through 7 a.m. Monday, August 8 –
    intermittently:

    -     Two lanes of northbound and/or southbound I-5 from Rye Canyon Road to
    Hasley Canyon Road
    -     The northbound and/or southbound I-5 connectors to westbound Highway
    126

    Dodgers Lose to Cardinals 9-4

    The Los Angeles Dodgers were unable to pull off a second win against the St. Louis Cardinals, as they lost 9-4 Saturday afternoon.  Make sure to tune in Sunday at 12:30 p.m. as the Dodgers finish the three game series against the Cardinals.
