    Supervisors Offer Reward for Info on Church Vandals

    Vandalism of Santa Clarita Valley churches prompted county supervisors to offer a $10,000 reward Tuesday to anyone who provides information leading to the arrest & conviction of the offenders. 

    Supervisor Michael Antonovich spearheaded the offer, while other supervisors unanimously approved the reward.

    Kidnappers DNA Wanted for Cold Cases

    Citing interest from other law enforcement agencies, Fresno police have sent to a state database DNA samples from a strange kidnapper who died at a local hospital last week...

    After Will Calcote kidnapped a waitress, prompting a 50-mile police pursuit that ended in a crash on the 5 freeway in Castaic, the Fresno resident died at Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital.  Coroner's are still trying to determine what caused his death.

    Lane Closure for I-5 Construction

    The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), from August 3-5, will close the following lanes, ramps and connectors of the Golden State Freeway (I-5) as part of a $41.6-million project to construct High Occupancy Vehicle, (HOV), or carpool lanes, on northbound and southbound I-5 from State Route 118 to State Route 14:

    About 30 friends & relatives of the 19-year-old man who presumably drowned Sunday in Castaic Lake kept vigil by the shore Monday, waiting for searchers to return his body.

    It's feared the youth drowned in 170-feet of water...

    Man Drowns in Castaic Lake

    Officials say they're unsure of the cause.  A search for the unrecovered body continues today...

    A 19-year-old man apparently drowned in front of several friends & family members Sunday afternoon in Castaic Lake.  The area in which the man drowned is approximately 170-feet deep.
