Small Fire Snarls 14 North


Brushfire started by vehicle on freeway 

Monday afternoon at approximately 5:20 p.m., a small brushfire broke out near the northbound 14 at the 2000 foot level just south of Agua Dulce Canyon. The blaze was sparked by a sports utility vehicle, which caught fire on the freeway and was quickly knocked down by Los Angeles County Fire.

Freeway closure was not required, however two lanes were blocked while fire crews worked on the fire.

Employee Robbed At Wendy's

Thief gets away with employee's cash.


ImageAn employee taking out the trash was robbed of $50 at a local fast-food restaurant Monday morning.

According to Sheriff's Sgt. Michael Wright, a worker at the Wendy's on Magic Mountain Parkway and The Old Road was taking out the trash at approximately 5:15 a.m. when he was approached by a male Hispanic who demanded money.

Murder Suspect Held, Bail Reduced

Stevenson Ranch murder suspect arraigned, bail reduced by half a million.


Michael Stephens, the prime suspect in the murder of Canyon Country baseball player Josh Pipho, was arraigned on murder and attempted murder charges in San Fernando Court today. He entered a plea of not guilty to the charges.

CHP Motorcycle Accident Shuts Down San Fernando

Officer reportedly has moderate injuries.

 Early Monday morning a CHP motorcycle unit was involved in an accident on San Fernando Road near Railroad Avenue.

The accident shut down traffic on the road, however one lane was re-opened around 7:00am., and by 8:00 traffic was normal.
