Three suspects, one a parole violator, were arrested in Valencia on Wednesday by an off-duty sheriff’s deputy who recognized their car from a description broadcast after a Dec. 23 shoplifting incident.

Residents in the fire-ravaged areas of Los Angeles County can pick up sandbags from all county fire stations to help prevent erosion and landslides that could be brought on by rainstorms. Up to 25 sandbags will be given to each person requesting them.
