ImageA quick-thinking 13-year old girl escaped a potential kidnapper as she was walking down Sierra Highway near Adon Avenue on her way home from school Thursday. The girl heard a man calling from a white van, offering her a ride, but she ignored him.


Woman Sexually Assaulted At Newhall Senior Complex

Ninety-year-old woman assaulted by facility employee.


ImageA 90-year old woman was allegedly raped Sunday night at the Oakdale Heights assisted living complex on Lyons Avenue in Newhall.


Deputies arrested Jose Adurdo Vazquez, 20, of Newhall, a worker at the facility and held him on $500,000 bail.

Santa Clarita To Enforce New Building Codes

New rules apply to new construction, add-ons, remodels and commercial improvements.


As of January 1, 2008, the Building and Safety Division of the City of Santa Clarita will begin enforcement of the new California State building codes for all new construction projects located in the City of Santa Clarita.
