Santa Clarita officials are working to clean up a property known as The Greens in Valencia, which they consider a “public nuisance,” an official with the City Attorney’s Office said Thursday.

State Announces New Tax Rule Meant To Help Food Truck Vendors

California tax officials are looking to streamline the lunchtime rush for food-truck feasts with a new rule July 1. “As the food-truck industry continues to motor its way into the mainstream, the California State Board of Equalization is serving up an amended regulation that’ll make it that much easier for Californians to enjoy the culinary creations being borne out of this ever-growing industry,” according to BOE officials in a news release. The new rule really is meant to streamline things for vendors, but customers might find things easier, an official said.

Santa Clarita Deputies Arrest Suspect In Burglary, BB Gun Shooting

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies arrested a Santa Clarita man Wednesday night after responding to reports of a commercial burglary and a BB gun assault. Brandon Spencer, 22, of Canyon Country, was arrested on assault with a deadly weapon charges last night in Saugus. The investigation began after a report of a commercial burglary at a hobby store on the 25600 block of Bouquet Canyon Road, according to Sheriff’s Station arrest records. Several Airsoft-style guns were stolen from the store after it closed, according to Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Crime Prevention Unit deputies.

Valencia High’s Devin Davis is taking the road trip of a lifetime.

Davis was selected to participate in the Major League Baseball Junior Select Home Run Derby in Minneapolis next month.

The Junior Home Run Derby is part of the Major League Baseball All Star game festivities at Target Field, home of the Minnesota Twins.

Davis will join nine of the top baseball players in the nation invited to the home run derby.

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station deputies responded to a report of a stolen car Monday night around 5:30 p.m., near the 23700 block of Delmonte Drive in Santa Clarita. Deputies located the vehicle, now abandoned, in the parking lot near Kohl's in Valencia, near McBean Parkway.
