Stevenson Ranch Woman Pleads No Contest In Fatal DUI Crash

A Stevenson Ranch woman arrested in connection with a fatal DUI crash that killed a Lake View Terrace man could receive up to four years in state prison when she's sentenced next month. Suzette L. Crockett, 46, of Stevenson Ranch, was booked Aug. 11 on a charge of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated. Under the terms of her plea deal, the sentence is up to a judge, and there’s a 48-month maximum on the amount of time she could be sentenced to in state prison, said Emily Cole, the deputy district attorney in charge of the case’s prosecution.

The Blue Heat have lost two games in a row. They dropped to 3-5 in the USL W-League.

McKeon Honors Santa Clarita Students Headed To Military Academies

Congressman Howard P. "Buck" McKeon, R-Santa Clarita, hosted a luncheon recently at College of the Canyons for 10 high school students from the 25th Congressional District appointed to U.S. military service academies and preparatory schools. Each year, members of Congress submit nominations of students from their districts for admissions to one of the four service academies - the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo., the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y., the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., and the Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, N.Y. There were 10 students from the 25th Congressional District who have been offered appointments to the four U.S. Service Academies.
