Hart High Science Students Take On Cancer Projects

Honors anatomy and physiology students at Hart High School are invited to participate in a cancer project every year after studying a unit on cancer.

Some students volunteer for local cancer fundraisers like the annual Leukemia & Lymphoma “Light the Night” walk, while other students design their own project.

Valencia Students Present Career Exploration Projects

 Valencia High School seniors presented career projects to local business leaders, teachers and administrators during December, completing a semester-long class that all Valencia seniors are required to take.

Home Builder Donates To SCV Food Pantry

 Pardee Homes donated $500 to the Santa Clarita Valley Food Pantry on Dec. 20 to help it with food baskets for the holiday period and to keep the food supplies going into the New Year.

The donation was made as part of Pardee Homes’ tenth year of holiday giving throughout Southern California.

College Of Canyons To Demolish Adminstration Building

College of the Canyons will demolish one of its older buildings Wednesday to make way for a “new and improved” administration and student services facility.

The 30-year-old administration (“A”) building is coming down starting at 10 a.m., when bulldozers and construction crews are scheduled to wipe it from the face of the Valencia campus.

The college’s new Student Services and Administration Building is expected to feature approximately 46,000 square-feet of operation area, spread throughout two stories.

Forecast Calls For Occasional Light Showers, Higher Snow Level

[NWS] – A series of storm systems will bring wet weather at times through the holiday weekend.

The first system will focus on areas north of Point Conception Friday night into Saturday, bringing gusty south to southwest winds and rainfall amounts generally between one-quarter and 1 inch.

The cold front is expected to weaken as it moves slowly south of Point Conception, with light rain becoming less likely across Ventura and Los Angeles Saturday night, generally 0.15 inches or less.
