Documentary Claims On Simpson-Goldman Murders Raise Doubts

A documentary claiming a Florida death-row inmate committed the murders O.J. Simpson was accused of in 1994 -- and later found liable for in a wrongful death civil trial in 1997 -- has drawn the ire of members of the victim’s family who live in the Santa Clarita Valley, as well as doubts from law enforcement officials.

Senior Center's Fundraising Foundation Disbands; Positions Eliminated

The Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center Foundation has been eliminated and its officials are jobless.

As of Tuesday, the positions of Executive Director Kathy Crone and her assistant, Crystal Rasmussen, no longer exist, said Myles McNamara, former president of the now defunct foundation board.

Bond Rating Firm Ups Hart District Outlook to ‘Positive’

Fitch Ratings of San Francisco has revised its outlook for the Hart School District’s bond portfolio upward to “positive” from “stable.”

It reaffirmed its previous AA- rating for the general obligation bonds issued under Measure V (2001) and Measure SA (2008).

Water Rates Going Up In Val Verde, Acton

Residents of Val Verde and Acton who get their water from the public water utility will be paying more for it in 2013 and beyond, if the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors approves a new rate plan Tuesday.

The typical single-family homeowner in Acton will see the biggest one-year increase as the average monthly rate jumps by $19.50 to $147.07 in 2013, versus $127.50 per month in 2012.
