    Newhall Man Arrested For Alleged Assault With Deadly Weapon

    Deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Department arrested Gilbert Yoon, 39, of Newhall at 7:15 a.m. Wednesday on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.

    Yoon and the victim started arguing at the Shell gas station located at the intersection of Bouquet Canyon Road and Seco Canyon Road.

    The Master's College Women's Soccer Team Rallies In Playoff Win

     

    The Master’s College women’s soccer team scored two second-half goals and beat Concordia, 2-1, in the first round of the Golden State Athletic Conference playoffs.

    Jasmine Benson scored both goals for the Lady Mustangs, ranked No. 24 in the NAIA. Her first goal tied the score, 1-1, in the 64th minute.

    She scored her second goal of the game in 77th minute off an assist from Ashlea Andrade.

    Concordia took a 1-0 lead in the first half scoring in the 11th minute.

    Cordell Broadus, the son of Snoop Dogg, is a wide receiver on the Diamond Bar High School football team. He is only a sophomore, but has a scholarship offer from UCLA. Coaches from the University of Oregon and Duke University have taken notice of Broadus.

    Saugus Girls Volleyball Team Wins Crescenta Valley Tournament

    The Saugus girls volleyball team won the Crescenta Valley Tournament with a two-game sweep over Alta Loma in the championship match.

    Hannah Nua was selected as the tournament MVP. Ashley Guthrie and Julianna Dole earned spots on the all-tournament team.

    The Saugus girls went 5-0 in the tournament.
