The Newhall School District is 10-for-10.
All 10 Newhall School District elementary schools – now including the district’s youngest school, Oak Hills – have achieved California Distinguished School status.
Parents, faculty, district administrators, community leaders and PTA and school board members congratulated students during a Tuesday morning ceremony at Oak Hills School in Valencia.
College of the Canyons pitcher Cory Jones was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the fifth round of the Major League Baseball draft.

The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals voted not to hear arguments a second time on California’s Proposition 8 meaning it will now head to the U.S. Supreme Court where they can make a decision whether or not to hear the case.
