UPDATED: Frazier Park Man Killed In Solo DUI Crash

A 35-year-old Frazier Park man was pronounced dead at the scene of a single-vehicle collision Saturday night on Interstate 5 near Gorman.

The victim was identified as Rocky Garland Lapham, 35, a resident of Frazier Park, by Ed Winter of the Los Angeles County Coroner's office.

“Alcohol was a contributing factor in this collision,” according to a statement from Officer J. Burdick of the California Highway Patrol office in Fort Tejon.

One Drunk Driving Arrest At Friday Night Checkpoint

One person was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving at a DUI/driver’s license checkpoint Friday night on Whites Canyon Road near Delight Street in Canyon Country.

A total of 990 vehicles were screened and four drivers were given field sobriety tests at the checkpoint, which ran from 6 p.m. to 2 p.m.
