Gorell Named Outreach Chair For Assembly Team

jeffgorellAssemblyman Jeff Gorell has been appointed as Outreach Chair on the Assembly Republican Leadership Team by Assembly Republican Leader Connie Conway.

“It’s an honor to be chosen for this new position,” Gorell said. “Assembly Republicans have proposed some reasonable and responsible policy solutions that should be taken directly to Californians for their evaluation. I am prepared to help accomplish that task.”

College Awards Classified Employees For Achievements

COClogoEmployees at College of the Canyons were recognized for their contributions to the college during an awards luncheon Thursday, May 3. The luncheon was held with the “twist” that board members, administrators and managers served college “classified” employees a catered meal, this year with a Hawaiian-themed “Hulapalooza” theme.

West Ranch, Saugus Baseball Teams Tied For First In Foothill League

khts_sportsWest Ranch pitcher J.C. Cloney came up big for the Wildcats.

The Saugus baseball team came-from-behind to beat Hart.

That leaves the Saugus and West Ranch baseball teams tied for first place in the Foothill League and puts Hart and Valencia in the backseat for the league title.

Cloney struck out a career high 12 batters against Valencia in a 7-0 shutout. He gave up only two hits in six innings and improved to 4-1 against the Foothill League.

Dodgers Fall To The Rockies 8-5

Dodgers were at Coors Field for a rubber match against the Colorado Rockies and they lost after Jason Giambi hit a three-run homer in the bottom of the ninth inning.

Rockies: 8, Dodgers: 5
