Firefighters use water to put out fires, but on Saturday, June 2, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., they will warn families about how water can take lives by demonstrating the critical importance of pool safety during the 2nd Annual Water Safety Expo at Los Angeles County Fire Station 126 on Citrus Street.
The so-called “truce” between CEMEX and the City of Santa Clarita has expired according to city officials. The agreement was initiated in 2007 after an acrimonious public debate began escalating between the city and CEMEX.

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Crime Prevention Unit 
Caltrans plans to close the lanes and ramps listed below as part of a $140 million improvement project to construct High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV or carpool) lanes and a direct HOV lane connector at the I-5/SR-170 interchange. Ramp closures will be staggered. Closures are subject to change. Detours will be signed.
The final journey of the USS Iowa concluded with her arrival in Southern California Wednesday. Personnel who served on the USS Iowa said they were “extremely pleased and proud” their ship was being returned to her “original beauty and glory” as a museum/memorial. 
In support of this coming Sunday’s “Let’s Move Together” Arthritis Walk being held at Magic Mountain, Mission Valley Bank hosted ‘Bank Day’ wherein Team Captains from all over the Santa Clarita Valley were invited to visit the Valencia branch and turn in donations collected for Sunday’s event.
