The Foothill League baseball standings just got a little tighter.
Valencia beat first-place Hart, 4-2, and cut the Indians’ lead to one game with five games left to play in the league season.
Brian Mundell hit a solo home run and drove in two run for Valencia.
Hart lost only its second league game of the season.
Saugus and West Ranch are a game behind Hart after winning their games.

Newly sworn in Council Members Bob Kellar and TimBen Boydston received a standing ovation after Mayor Pro-Tem Frank Ferry announced their official addition to the council. Kellar even elicited a chorus of "Hip, hip hooray!" from the audience.

Hart High School in Newhall have recreated filmmaker Ryan James Yezak's documentary video for "I Want to Know What It's Like" as a video to air on the school's daily newscast to promote local observance of a "Day of Silence" on Wednesday.
