Hart, Golden Valley Track Teams Turn In Top Performances At Arcadia Invitational

Hart and Golden Valley came away with some impressive performances at the Arcadia Invitational track and field meet over the weekend.

The Hart and Golden Valley boys medley relay teams finished in the top 10 in the invitational race at the meet.

Golden Valley’s Chelsey Totten and Hart’s Austin O’Neil were in the top-five in the 1-mile races.

Totten finished in fourth in the girls 1-mile seeded race in 5:04.23. Ashley Dadkah from Torrey Pines won the race in 4:54.44

Kings Playoff Schedule Released

The Los Angeles Kings’ first round NHL Stanley Cup Playoff series versus the Vancouver Canucks is as follows, the Kings and the National Hockey League announced this morning.  The Kings are the eighth seed in the Western Conference.

Possible Kidnapping At CalArts; 911 Caller Unsure If Real

An already busy Saturday afternoon – punctuated with several fights and car crashes – got even busier for Santa Clarita Valley sheriff’s deputies when a 911 caller reported a possible kidnapping near the entrance to California Institute of the Arts in Valencia.

The caller said a woman, described as Asian or “light black” in her 20s, was half-in and half-out of a car driven by a 41-year-old black male. The woman reportedly screamed at the informant to call 911 because she was being held against her wishes.

April 7, 2012 - Dodgers Beat San Diego Padres 6-5

Los Angeles started off strong, scoring every inning leading to a 5-0 scoreboard by the Fifth. However, it was also the Fifth Inning when San Diego ran across home base five times, tieing the game at the halfway way point. Dodgers couldn't edge past until the Eleventh Inning, when they narrowly secured their victory.

2 Arrested For DUI Friday At Newhall Checkpoint

Two drivers were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence at a DUI checkpoint in Newhall Friday night.

Another 15 people were ticketed for driving without a license, and one person was cited for driving with a suspended license. Ten more tickets were issued for various vehicle code violations.
