BoxerheadshotU.S. Senator Barbara Boxer, co-chair of the Senate Military Family Caucus, joined with 13 colleagues today in urging Secretary of Veterans Affairs Eric Shinseki to file a trademark application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for the phrase ‘GI Bill’ to help protect veterans from deceptive marketing by for-profit colleges and universities.

Chancellor Series To Feature Show Tunes, Jazz And Blues

COCAs the second installment of the Chancellor’s Cabaret Series, the College of the Canyons music department will host a quartet of concert events May 5-6, in the main lobby of the Dr. Dianne G. Van Hook University Center.

The Chancellor’s Cabaret Series debuted to a packed house on the evening of March 14, 2012, and featured performances by the college’s two vocal jazz choirs — Just Jazz and House Blend —along with touring vocal jazz ensemble Audio Radiance.

Valencia Boys Golf Team Wins Newhall Cup, West Ranch Wins League Title

The Vikings won the Newhall Cup and the final Foothill League match of the season.

Valencia’s Jonathan Chang shot the low round of the day, a 2-over 74, and won individual title in the Newhall Cup for the third year in a row. He also wrapped up the league MVP.
