Kaluna, a junior forward at West Ranch, was selected to the Division 1A team. He averaged 16.1 points and 10.9 rebounds per game in leading West Ranch to the quarterfinals of the Division 1A playoffs.

Runner is seeking an author for his bill that would limit the fuel taxes Californians pay at the pump to the first $4.00 per gallon.

West Ranch's Cloney Pitches Gem Against Valencia Baseball Team

West Ranch starter JC Cloney silenced the explosive Valencia bats, giving up only three hits and striking out a career-high 11.

West Ranch scored two runs in the sixth inning. Gabe Perralta had an RBI single and Jake Miura hit a sacrifice fly.

DUI Suspected In Death Of 17-Year-Old

One 17-year-old died and another sustained critical injuries in a solo car crash Friday night on Sierra Highway between Acton and Palmdale.

The crash occurred at 10 p.m. south of Pearblossom Highway.

The driver, a 17-year-old girl, was allegedly intoxicated as she drove her 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer northbound on Sierra Highway at an estimated 70 mph.
