A quarter-century after the city of Santa Clarita was formed, the county of Los Angeles is transfering title to some land in Canyon Country that was supposed to go to the city in the first place.

A 20-year old driver is behind bars Friday morning after knocking over a power pole in Valencia and fleeing the scene of the accident.
Danger lurks behind the wheel when a driver redirects their attention from the road to some other distracting behavior, like talking on a cellular telephone or text messaging. During the month of April, law enforcement agencies throughout California will be especially focused on taking enforcement action on these inattentive, “zombie” drivers.
Castaic Animal Shelter is one of the six LA County shelters participating in the ASPCA national adoption event next weekend, from Friday, March 30 to Sunday, April 1.
On Saturday, April 21, Circle of Hope will hold their 8th Annual 5k Walk and People's Choice Car show at Castaic Lake. From 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., participants may walk as a team, with family members or even canine friends in this non-competitive fundraiser benefiting Santa Clarita Valley breast cancer patients.
The Santa Clarita-based Association of Professional Animal Waste Specialists, a nonprofit trade organization founded in February 2002, has established April 1-7 as a special week of educating pet owners on the importance of cleaning up after their dogs.
