Jake's Way, Fair Oaks Ranch To Become City Soon

Fair Oaks Ranch and the Jake’s Way area of Canyon Country are moving closer to becoming part of the city of Santa Clarita.

The City Council voted to start the annexation process last May when it was considering JSB Development’s Vista Canyon Ranch project at Soledad and Lost Canyon roads.

The unincorporated Santa Clarita Valley would become a whole lot more “bike friendly” if the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors approves a plan Tuesday that would add 158 miles of bikeways in the SCV over the next 20 years.

Soroptimist Holds Scholarship Swingfest On Saturday

soroptimistSoroptimist International of Santa Clarita Valley is holding a unique fundraiser for their scholarship fund this Saturday at Scratch Golf Accelerated in Valencia.

At “T Up for Education,” participants will rotate between the indoor center’s four different golf stations, hit golf balls in the simulators, chip and putt on the greens and participate in fitness activities during their one-hour tee time.

West Ranch Takes On Top-Seeded Mission Viejo In CIF Boys Basketball Playoffs

The Wildcats take on Mission Viejo, the top-seeded team in the Southern Section Division 1A playoffs, tonight at West Ranch High School. Mission Viejo won 18 games in a row at one point during the season and plays a tough style of defense, allowing only 54.5 points per game.

Mall Molester Pleads No Contest, Sentenced To Three Years In Prison

An 18-year-old Stevenson Ranch man suspected of breaking into a house on Holmes Place in Stevenson Ranch and brutally assaulting the female resident on January 8 has been charged with multiple counts including attempted murder, according to the District Attorney's office.

Jerry Moon (pictured at right) will be arraigned March 7 in Dept. S of San Fernando Superior Court.

Santa Clarita Wine Fest To Benefit Hoefflin Foundation Pours March 3; Volunteers Sought

mhf-logoThe second annual Santa Clarita Wine Fest to benefit the Michael Hoefflin Foundation for Children’s Cancer is set for Bridgeport Marketplace in Valencia on Saturday, March 3 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Organizers have also put out the call for volunteers 21 and older to help before, during and after the event.

Blood Drive Set Monday To Help Providence Build Supplies
