High school and junior college athletes from across the country are today making their college commitments official, and the Santa Clarita Valley is well represented.

 

Graffiti Removal Force Cleans Up The Town

graffitiremovaltruckIf you’ve noticed less scrawling on the walls of the city, give credit to the Graffiti Task Force, which patrols the streets and removes offending, illegal markings throughout the year.

More than six thousand tags were removed during 2011, with the majority of displays taken from surfaces in Canyon Country. Of 6,333 tags removed, 55 percent of them were found by staff while patrolling the area and 45 percent were reported by residents.

Antonovich Honors Golden Valley Cross Country Team For CIF Victory

MikeGoldenValleyXRanchSupervisor Michael D. Antonovich honored the Golden Valley High School Boys Cross Country Team for their recent CIF Division 2 State Championship.

In addition, they are the Foothill League Champions, the Division 2 course record holders at Mt. San Antonio College and placed 11th at the Nike Cross Country Nationals. The team also averages a 4.03 GPA and members of the team are taking a total of 18 AP classes.
