Saugus High's Jesse Williams Joins Sacramento State Women's Gymnastics Team

Jesse_WilliamsJesse Williams, a senior at Saugus High School and a member of the Waller’s GymJam, signed a national letter of intent to join the Sacramento State women’s gymnastics team last week.

She is a decorated gymnast with state championships in the vault and floor. She was a Level 9 state champion on the vault and floor and finished third in the all-around portion of the meet.

Local Lawyer Will Represent Victims Of Accused Miramonte Sex Offender

mark-berndt-jail-mugLocal attorney, Greg Owen, of the Santa Clarita law firm, Owen, Patterson, Owen is representing nine children allegedly victimized by Mark Berndt (pictured at right), a teacher at Miramonte Elementary School who has been accused of committing lewd acts against his students.

“My belief is there are hundreds who have been victimized,” said Owen, who is representing children ranging from 8 to 15 years old.

Antonovich Appoints Perrou To Mental Health Commission

AntonovichSupervisor Michael D. Antonovich appointed Barry Perrou, Ph.D. to the Los Angeles County Mental Health Commission.

Dr. Perrou has been a psychologist with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department for over 30 years.  He is an active member of the Los Angeles County Peace Officers’ Association, the California Peace Officers’ Commission and the Forensic Mental Health Association of California.

Three Teams Still Alive For Foothill League Title In Boys Basketball

Three teams are still in contention after Tuesday night’s games. West Ranch and Canyon, the leaders in the Foothill League standings, both won. Hart, a game behind West Ranch and Canyon, also won to keep pace.

West Ranch beat Saugus, 65-55, behind 20 points from Ako Kaluna.
