    Hart Girls Soccer Team Rallies To Shut Out Alemany

    khts_sportsFor the Hart girls soccer team, it was better late than never.

    The Hart girls scored three goals in the second half and shut out visiting Alemany, 3-0. Laura Sega scored the first goal for Hart off a deflection on a throw-in from Destinney Duron.

    Jenny Chavez made it 2-0 with a header off another throw-in from Duron.

    Kelsey Steck scored the third goal for Hart with eight minutes to play in the game.

    Santana Allowed To Make Jail Fixes To Meet Code

    The owner of the historic Newhall jail building was back in court Monday and was given another month and a half to bring his property up to code.

    The city of Santa Clarita filed criminal charges in August accusing Manny Santana, 60, of failing to comply with orders issued in February, March and July to fix up his property, which suffers from peeling paint, graffiti and dilapidated fencing.

    Saugus Boys Basketball Team Upsets No. 2 Tesoro

    khts_sportsThe Saugus boys basketball team posted an impressive win over Tesoro, the second-ranked team in the CIF Southern Section Division 2AA.

    Unranked Saugus won, 60-49, behind 23 points from Jeremy Gatewood. He hit five 3-pointers and helped Saugus erase an 11-point, first quarter deficit.

    Chris Lockwood chipped in with 14 points. The Saugus boys play Oxnard on Thursday night.
